Spending one morning cleaning the banks of a river will make a world of difference when you participate in this year’s International Coastal Cleanup on September 20, 2008.

NOAA staff, working Ocean Conservancy and other Federal agencies, will join together in nationwide to collect as much debris and trash from our shores as possible.  The amount will be tallied and published after the event.   Let’s show those other Federal agencies that we are the most committed to bettering the environment! During last year’s event, globally, more than 378, 000 volunteers in 76 countries picked up 6,075, 698.4 pounds of debris!

Bring your friends and family out for a morning on the beach…what a better way to take pride in your community and meet others who care about keeping it beautiful. Lead your children by example!  All children under the age of 17 must be under adult supervision.

Please contact the staff specified for your area above with the number of people who will be attending in your group by September 5, 2008.   Important information on the specifics of the day will follow.

Enjoy the day outside while doing something
that makes a difference!
